The Next Top Title Blogfest.....Finally!!

Tres Rude of me not to have posted since Tuesday!!! My glorious wenches deserve better!! My only excuse for not posting or visiting anyone's blog this week is my effin book, The Ivory Pomegranate. It is kickin my arse hardcore!! Numerous times this week I have asked myself...What the Hell was I thinking?! But that topic will be a whole nother blog post.

So. I'm thinking that a title is an often overlooked jewel for your WIP. I mean, that's what the agent sees on the subject line of their email AND it's what the reader will see when the bookseller slides it between the numerous other books among the endless shelves. And titles are hard to come up with. They have to be catchy, evoke the theme of your book but they also can't be too transparent, long winded or trite.

So how about a Blogfest for such?

Here's the rules, and they are subject to change because I don't know what the hell I'm doing :)

Sign up on the little widget to my left and if you have trouble signing up let me know in the comments, because, again...I don't know what the hell I'm doing...

Become a follower, because ya know, the more wenches the merrier!!

The date is June 12th

On that day, post 3- 5 possible titles of your WIP and do not give any background or loglines about your WIP. This will allow the commenters to form a quick impression as to what that title evokes to them and choose a title they like best?! And I know some of us already know about our other blogger bud's WIP but I think it's important to do it this way because the agent and the reader(usually) only see the title, no hook, no logline, nothing...So the title alone has to grab them?

And if you happen to have more that 1 WIP, by all means post titles for both!

So you guys in? Any further suggestions?? Any questions?

Want to add too that I have been given some awards as of late that I will be passing along earlier this week...you guys are awesomeness!!!!

  2. I would not use "America" in the title...half the bloggers I follow are not American. Plus the fact that I'm visiting Canada at the moment...

    What aboot "Worlds Next Top Title" or "The Next Top Title"?

  17. OMG. I've totally got a whole list of titles I've gone through in a post this week...might even be tomorrow's! Probably should have saved it for Mock Me Monday, but oh well.

    Sounds like fun, I'll just have to postpone that post until June I guess!
